We're Against Animal Testing

XXXXXXXXXX
What's Happening In The US

Laila, Inc. is against animal testing on fragrance, cosmetic products and ingredients. We do not test our products or ingredients on animals, nor do we commission others to do so. We never have and never will.

We consider such tests to be morally and scientifically indefensible.

So What Do We Do?

Laila, Inc. takes positive action to bring about an end to the use of animals in cosmetics testing and to ensure no such testing is carried out by us or on our behalf. We operate a strict purchasing rule that ensures that we don't use any ingredient that has been animal tested for cosmetic purposes by our suppliers. Laila, Inc., instead, use alternative tests.

However, the fact is that almost all fragrance and cosmetic ingredients have been animal tested by somebody at some time for someone. So no cosmetics company can claim that its ingredients have never been animal tested. But they can take action to stop the tests.

The crucial thing is for a fragrance company not to test or commission animal tests and to do everything to try to stop ingredient suppliers animal testing in the future. Laila, inc. does all this, through our ingredient purchasing rule and supplier monitoring.

Instead of testing on animals, Laila, Inc. supports the use and development of alternative technologies.

We're Proud Of Our Policy

Laila, Inc. is proud of our Against Animal Testing policy. With the help of our customers, we hope to eliminate the use of animal testing completely. Many consumers mistakenly believe the testing of cosmetics on animals has been banned. The reality, according to the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, is that around 38,000 animals continue to be used in such tests across the United States, Europe, and many more globally.

Today the overwhelming majority of these tests are carried out on ingredients, rather than finished products. Laila, Inc. is careful to screen all of our ingredients and suppliers, and work to ensure that we do not breach our promise to customers not to test on animals.
